Sharleen Spiteri will always have a place between our icons. Why? nobody really knows. Ambiguity in the looks, rumors never denied, lesbians girlfriends …
After her success with Texas, Spiteri came back as a 50’s diva on her first solo album, ‘Melody’. The record was unfairly unnoticed but was, at least, included the soundtrack of the last season of The L Word.
She is now back again, more camp than ever: with a cd with covers from films. including one of gayest anthems: Xanadu, originally sang by Olivia Newton-John.
Lesbotomia also feels a special affection for Sharleen Spiteri. There was a time when rumor had it that Tomboy Kuin was dating her. The whole story was a big fat lie, made up by a crazy ex, after TK interviewed her.
Tomboy Kuin would like to thank her ex, and all the credited she got for presumably having dated the singer.
PS: The new album of Sharleen Spiteri, ‘The movie songbook’, will be on sale from March 1st, 2010.
