Evan Rachel Wood will be a lesbian vampire queen in ‘True Blood’
The new season of HBO’s hit series True Blood will introduce on the 30th of August, Vampire Queen Sophie-Anne Leclerq, played by seductive actress Evan Rachel Wood. And yes, the Queen will be interested in women.
Many of you may know the actress as singer Marilyn Manson’s ex-girlfriend or maybe as the love interest of young Mischa Barton in Once and Again, which was cancelled just as this relationship was flourishing.
We doubt the vampire show is going to be cancelled anytime soon, so let’s be prepared for lots love/bite archs. Wood will be appearing in several episodes this season and she’ll be returning as a recurring character for the next season as well.
True Blood is in any case a very a gay show. Its creator, Alan Ball, also responsible for the script of American Beauty and Six Feet Under, is openly gay. Not to mention that the vampire mythology is full of gay and lesbian references: they are a discriminated minority, who struggle to see their civil rights accepted.
